About Hoek, Line & Thinker

Hoek, Line & Thinker was established by Tom van Waveren in September 2004. Hoek, Line & Thinker aims to create an environment where animation projects of an international caliber can be nurtured and brought to market with the required expertise, resources, patience and drive to have them fulfill their full potential.

To achieve this, Hoek, Line & Thinker only works on a select number of projects with carefully chosen partners and talent. All involved organizations and individuals share a profound conviction that all compelling content has to be strongly creatively driven. Nevertheless, this creative drive can only be successful if one is simultaneously acutely aware of the commercial realities under which we operate in the entertainment market and can marry the demands of both these dimensions in each project.

Consequently, each project which Hoek, Line & Thinker will bring to market, with its partners, will have a solid grounding in television or cinema.

These will be important platforms in presenting our stories and visuals to the world while creating awareness and exposure for the properties which we aim to build into broader entertainment brands.

Hoek, Line & Thinker will support its marketing activities with a very pro-active on-line and interactive strategy. Web-sites, interactive games and mobile phone content will form an intrinsic part of our activities, where relevant, and will help in further expanding the life of our properties.

Tom van Waveren has been working in television from 1992 and in animation from 1996. He has truly enjoyed executive producing numerous animation programs in his previous roles at Nelvana, Egmont Imagination and Telescreen. Having had the privilege of having been involved in exceptional projects such as Hamilton Mattress, Lizzie McGuire, Rex the Runt, Little People and Paz, it has now become his ambition to steer equally deserving projects to success in the exciting context of his own organization.
